clipworker turns a long recording into short clips. This page explains what we do with the video you upload and the details you give us. It describes what the service actually does today, not what it might do later.
What we collect
- Your account. An email address and a password. We create the account and send you the details; passwords are hashed by our authentication provider and we never see them.
- The videos you upload, plus any b-roll or music you add, and the description you type of the moment you want.
- The transcript of your recording. We transcribe it to find the moment worth clipping, and we keep the text so that a second request against the same upload does not have to transcribe it again.
- Job records — when a clip was made, by whom, whether it succeeded, and technical notes about how it was produced.
- Your brand kit — the logo, colours, font and placement your workspace has set.
- Access requests. If you fill in the request-access form we store your name, email, and the phone number, country and message if you give them, and we email them to ourselves so we can reply.
We do not use analytics or advertising trackers, we take no payments and hold no card details, and we do not sell your data or share it for marketing.
How long we keep your video
- Source uploads are deleted as soon as your clip is rendered. When one upload is producing several clips it is kept until the last one is done, and removed automatically within a day. A failed or abandoned upload goes the same way.
- Finished clips are kept for 30 days, then deleted. Download anything you want to keep.
- You can delete a clip yourself at any time. The video file is erased from storage immediately and cannot be recovered. We keep the job record — when it was made and that it was deleted — without the video, because the monthly allowance is counted from those records.
- Job records, transcripts and your account persist until the workspace is closed or you ask us to delete them.
Who else processes your data
We use a small number of providers to run the service. Each receives only what it needs:
- OpenAI — to choose which moment of your recording makes the best clip, the text transcript is sent to OpenAI. The video itself is never sent. If your recording contains something you would not want processed by a third party, please do not upload it.
- Supabase — accounts, job records and transcripts, hosted in Singapore (AWS ap-southeast-1).
- Cloudflare R2 — storage for uploads, finished clips and brand logos.
- Vercel — website hosting.
- Resend — delivers the access-request emails. Sign-in and password-reset emails are sent by Supabase.
Transcription, face tracking and video rendering all happen on our own infrastructure, not a third party.
Who in your organisation can see it
A clip belongs to the workspace, not to the person who made it. Everyone in your workspace can watch, download and permanently delete every clip in its library, and can see the brand kit. Nobody outside it can: access is enforced in the database, so one workspace cannot read another’s clips, transcripts or job history.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and everything attached to it. Email support@ablyst.com and we will action it within 30 days. Deleting an account removes its job records, transcripts and any clips still in storage.
If you are in the UK or EU, you also have the right to object to processing and to complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
Uploads go straight to storage over an encrypted connection, using a short-lived link scoped to your workspace. Clips are served through links that expire. Access is enforced at the database level rather than only in the app, so a mistake in a page cannot expose another workspace’s files or job history.
Children
clipworker is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change how we handle your data we will update this page, and for anything significant we will email you before it takes effect.
